IntelliAM appoints Simon Wilson as Strategic Advisor

IntelliAM AI plc has appointed Simon Wilson as Strategic Advisor, strengthening the company’s senior advisory capability as it develops its commercial operation in the United States.

Simon will work closely with CEO Tom Clayton, the Executive Leadership Team and Board, providing advice across corporate strategy, US market development, commercial opportunities, product positioning, strategic partnerships, fundraising and investor engagement.

He brings more than 35 years of experience in international B2B software, including senior executive, board and advisory roles with British and American technology companies.

Simon moved to the United States in 1994 and has spent much of his career working with software businesses operating across both markets. This gives him an informed understanding of the opportunities available to a British technology company in the US, as well as the commercial and operational requirements involved in building there successfully.

As CFO of London-listed internet security company SurfControl, Simon led its corporate-development strategy and managed its financial growth into a business generating approximately $150 million in annual revenue. In 2007, Websense agreed to acquire SurfControl in a transaction valuing its issued share capital at approximately £201 million, equivalent to around $400 million at the exchange rate reported at the time.

He had previously spent five years in KPMG’s US M&A and Corporate Finance practice, advising American and international software and IT services companies. His earlier experience included corporate-development, finance and accounting roles with Misys, Ford Motor Company and Ernst & Whinney.

Simon has also previously been appointed to advise a UK-listed technology company increasing its focus on the American market. In 2012, AIM-listed network-monitoring business Endace appointed him as a Non-Executive Director, citing his experience of governance, strategy and operations in the US technology sector. An agreed cash offer for Endace, valuing the business at approximately $130 million, was announced by Emulex later that year.

Today, Simon is Non-Executive Chair of AIM-listed cloud payments company PCI Pal, Non-Executive Chairman of US-headquartered FADEL Partners and an Operating Advisor to technology investment firm Updata Partners.

His current roles also provide relevant experience of recurring-revenue software, international partnerships and public markets.

Simon joined the PCI Pal board in 2019, when the business reported annual revenue of £2.82 million. PCI Pal’s latest trading update estimates revenue of £24.6 million for the year ended June 2026, alongside annual recurring revenue of £24.4 million and gross revenue retention of 96%. The company has also reported particularly strong momentum in the US, supported by its partner network and direct commercial activity.

Simon joins IntelliAM at a point when the company has both an established body of customer evidence and a developing route into the US market. In September, IntelliAM also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with South Carolina-based industrial automation and systems integration company SkyIO. The proposed relationship will support customer identification, implementation, commissioning, training and first-line support in the US, and is already connected to an identified commercial opportunity.

Simon’s appointment adds experience of the strategic and commercial decisions that accompany this stage of development: how a technology proposition should be positioned for the US market, how effective local partnerships are structured, where resources should be concentrated and how progress is communicated to investors.

Built by manufacturing experts, IntelliAM is a system-agnostic industrial intelligence platform that connects and enriches data from across a factory, revealing hidden performance, predicting what comes next and providing an independent, trusted pathway to improvement.

Simon will support IntelliAM as the company introduces that proposition to more US manufacturers and develops the partnerships and commercial capabilities required to support them.

We are pleased to welcome Simon to IntelliAM and look forward to working with him.
